Just when I thought I was finished opening my Christmas gifts, what should appear in the mail...

A beautiful package sent by a HSKS6 friend.  It truly did lift my spirits to find a package peaking out of the mailbox at me. What a season for miracles!  Thanks so much to my Hogwarts friend for making my day!

I am SPOILED!

I have been participating in a Harry Potter Swap for the past  6 weeks.  It is now down to  the final week in which we get to swap all of the goodies we have been working on for our swap partner.  My package went out on Tuesday of last week. I haven't heard anything from the person I sent it to so I am assuming it is not there yet.  It did have to go to Rochester, NY so if it isn't there yet, it is to be expected.  After a horrid week I was most pleasantly surprised to find a box FULL of goodies waiting for me on my porch.  I am soooooo SPOILED!  All I can say is my spoiler totally gets me, right down to the fat quarters and the package of tissues!

HSKS6--Hogsmeade

This weekend was my first weekend in Hogsmeade.  As a first year, I have heard many stories of the place so, I wasn't sure what to expect.   Truthfully, it was just nice to be out of Hogwarts!  I  started my adventure alone in the hopes of meeting up with a few others later. I wandered down to Scrivershafts to get a new quill.  With my new quill safely tucked away I headed down to Dervish and Banges.  We have a wicked homework assignment this week History of Magic. UGH.   I was hoping on getting some pointers about enchanting the wand to write while i dictated.  As I enter the shop I was amazed at all of the things in the shop.  Half of which I couldn't tell you what they did.  Unfortunately, the man in the shop didn't know anything about enchanted quills other than the kind that wrote without ink.  Whatever that's about.   I did however purchase these.  I was told they were made by goblins.   I don't know about that, but they do remind me of Peeves, The Bloody Barron and Nearly Headless Nick.

Next, I went to Honeydukes, as did many from Hogwarts, because they were PACKED.  I wanted some chocolate frogs but they were out, so I settled for Liquorice Wands.  Just about the time I was ready to meet up with the others, I saw tons of people gathering around yelling.  Then there was a huge explosion and purple smoke was everywhere.   Well, I don't have to tell you I didn't stick around to find out what was going on.  With a name like Riddle people often find reason to blame you for things, so you can see why I ran.  I haven't seen or talked to the others since the incident so I don't know what went on but I am anxious to hear.   I'll keep you posted.

Dead

Well, as sleep deprived as I was on monday.  I died anyway.  For those of you who have NO idea what I am talking about, a little summary.

(I am doing a Harry Potter swap on ravelry.  I competing in the first round of the dueling club.  The object was to finish a hat or sock faster than the person you are dueling against.  I stayed up late  on Sunday, finished the hat, and had it mailed by 8:15 am Monday.  And I lost by 1 1/2 hours.)  

The winner of the duel is decided based on the usps delivery confirmation stamp.  I should have known El Paso Post office would let me down, time is realative here. Not to mention they have already lost a package of mine!!!  The good news is I now have this really cute hat!
